Wakefield Council Group Walks
For a bit of community spirit, the council’s organised group walks are a great way to spend a few hours. Mostly free and very easy to join, these walks are a brilliant way to discover new routes and meet fellow dog owners. They’re social, fresh air focused sessions that show off the best of our local landscape, and since they’re often child-friendly, they’re a solid option for the whole family. The Carleton Pub Dog Walks, Pontefract
The Carleton has turned the Sunday morning walk into a proper event. On the last Sunday of every month, you can join a social stroll from the pub car park at 10.30 am to noon, followed by a well earned coffee and a breakfast sandwich back at the bar. All for just a fiver, it’s a fantastic way to socialise, get some steps in, and possibly even end with a pint! No need to book, just turn up.
