Castleford is securing a major new civic sporting asset with the launch of the inaugural Castleford 10K on Sunday, 20 September 2026. Bringing a high profile, England Athletics licensed road race to the town, the event fills a long standing gap in the local sporting calendar and establishes a dedicated mass participation fixture for the area.
Designed to showcase the very best of Castleford, the chip timed course guides participants past local landmarks and through community streets, starting and finishing inside the iconic home of the Castleford Tigers.
Starting at 9:00 AM, the race kicks off from the stadium, with participants setting off along an accurately measured, England Athletics authorised course. Every runner will take home an official finisher’s medal and commemorative race t-shirt.
